WILD FACTS AND AMAZING MATHS SERIES.

A series of five books published by Boxer Books exploring mathematical concepts that children can find difficult to understand. The books investigate different units of measure using animals and dinosaur comparisons. My first book 'how much does a ladybird weigh?' was nominated for several awards and listed on the New York Public Libraries Best Books for Kids 2016 list. Take a closer look by clicking on the grey titles: 'How long is a whale?', 'How tall was a T. rex?', 'How far can a kangaroo jump?', and 'How fast was a velociraptor?'
WILD RAINBOW
This is an 18 page children's board book aimed at 0-3 year olds. It uses animals that are named after the colour they are and the type of animal they are to teach children about the colours of the rainbow. The animals and colours will translate into French, Spanish and Italian without changing the concept behind the project.

SOMEWHERE TO CALL HOME
This is a 32 page square format picture book aimed at 3 - 6 year olds. It explores the different types of home that different animals live in. This is an active project. I have adjusted the text to include more text and I am currently working on some different artwork too.

40 ELEPHANTS

A relief printed children's picture book about animal size and scale. The images in this book were produced using cardboard collographs and vinyl cuts. I didn't discover the true versitility of collographs until I created the whale. I created different tones and textures by separating and removing different layers of the card and layering the images. I used oil based lithography ink with a heavy dose of extender for the background colours so that I could use the white of the paper to make the colour more vibrant. The book features a double fold out page for the final spread.
